“St Mary’s Church, Ewell will host a spectacular holiday concert on Saturday 20 December, as internationally acclaimed virtuoso guitar duo Duo Destino bring flamenco fire and festive cheer to the stage.
Virtuoso guitarists Ben Bruant and Will Cashel—known together as Duo Destino—will deliver their signature blend of dazzling fingerwork, rhythmic flair, and infectious energy in a performance that promises to be one of the highlights of the holiday season. Their sound is so rich and layered, audiences often remark that it feels like more than two musicians are on stage.
Since meeting at the Royal Academy of Music in London, Ben (from Le Havre) and Will (from Bath) have captivated audiences across England, France, Italy, and Spain. Their repertoire fuses Latin-inspired originals with bold, flamenco-infused takes on everything from Albéniz to Daft Punk, Dire Straits to The Gypsy Kings—a genre-defying journey that makes familiar tunes feel brand new.
During the pandemic, Duo Destino performed 70 free concerts in NHS workers’ gardens, earning national recognition and the hearts of communities across the UK. They have since played for royalty, appeared on BBC Radio 2 and Scala Radio, now Magic Classical, and lit up stages from Glastonbury Festival to the Bahrain Grand Prix.
This year’s concert will also celebrate their latest release, Heartbeat—a stirring instrumental that fuses classical elegance with flamenco fire. Already a standout moment in their live shows, Heartbeat has been praised for its emotional storytelling and hypnotic textures, further cementing Duo Destino’s reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting virtuoso guitar duos.
