SUMMARY:Epsom Symphony Orchestra - Spanish Fiesta
DESCRIPTION:The Epsom Symphony Orchestra brings you a Spanish Fiesta of music with compositions that reflect the vibrancy of this wonderful country. \nRavel’s Bolero is now famous as the music to which Torvil & Dean ice danced their way to a gold medal at Sarajevo in 1984. Most will also recognise Chabrier’s rhapsody for strings\, Espana\, inspired by the composer’s tour of Spain. \nAward winning Scottish saxophonist\, Richard Schofield joins us to play the Carmen Fantasy for string\, featured in several films. \nUnder the baton of our Musical Director\, Darrell Davison\, the fiesta is complete with Falla’s ballet music from the Three Cornered Hat & the ever popular Capriccio Espagnole by Rimsky Korsakov which is based on Spanish folk melodies.
