DESCRIPTION:By popular demand we are delighted to welcome to Epsom Playhouse the Band of His Majesty’s Irish Guards. The Band is comprised of musicians from the Royal Corps of Army Music and is one 14 Regular Army Bands in the British Army. It was formed on 1st April 1900\, to commemorate the bravery of the men from the Irisg Regiments who fought with distinction in the South African campaigns.\nThe Band has a worldwide reputation for performing outstanding and spectacular concerts to packed houses in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world to critical acclaim. They can be seen performing for  Changing of the King’s Guard at Buckingham Palace and also the King’s Birthday Parade.\nCome along and enjoy one of the top Military Bands in the Armed Forces today in\, what promises to be\, a spectacular evening of top quality entertainment.

London-based guitarist\, singer\, composer and band-leader Mario Bakuna is a driving force on the home and international scene taking Brazilian jazz to audiences as far afield as Egypt\, Madagascar\, Canada and Azerbaijan\, while closer to his adopted home Mario has played many of the UK venues that count\, including the Royal Albert Hall\, Ronnie Scott’s and the Jazz Cafe\, as well as jazz clubs and festivals around Europe. In his home town of Sao Paulo\, Mario Bakuna studied with prominent musicians including Roberto Bomilcar\, the pianist who played with Frank Sinatra during his visit to Brazil\, and between touring extensively\, Mario has recorded two albums: ‘Where Rio de Janeiro Meets Bahia’ and ‘Brazilian Landscapes’. Written rapidly in 1841\, the work reflects Schumann’s happiness at marrying Clara Wieck. \nYou will also hear Beethoven’s 8th symphony. Described as compact & witty\, it is Beethoven’s penultimate\, & shortest symphony.”
