Party: Liberal Democrats Resides in Epsom & Ewell: Yes
My career as assistant producer in factual TV production, mostly for the BBC, allowed me to make programmes that bypassed stereotypes and bias — that’s always been a strong thread through my work, because for me social justice is a cornerstone of societal well-being, and it’s why I joined the Liberal Democrats.
I’ve worked all over the UK but I’m a born and raised Surrey girl. I feel so lucky that my partner and I have been able to raise our two daughters here in Epsom, and that our choice meant they benefit from amazing schools including St Martins and Roseberry. We have been here for 13 years now and have never looked back.
When I first met Helen Maguire MP, she was newly elected and I felt a breath of fresh air had swept into Epsom and Ewell. For too long now we have lived with a stalled status quo. That new sense of ambition and energy made me decide it was the right time to step up and contribute in a new way to our community.
There’s so much more we can do for Epsom Town and Downs. We need to strengthen safety nets for those coping with the higher cost of living, provide better management of the SEND system, forge stronger neighbourly connections and a sense of belonging, and encourage our children to make more use of our beautiful green spaces, whether through education, the arts or just for play.
And let’s not forget that all too familiar pothole bugbear — it’s high time we looked at longer-term solutions than the current quick fixes! I’m excited at the prospect of getting stuck in to help bring about a fresh start for Surrey.

DEADMAN Roy James

Party: Liberal Democrats Resides in Epsom & Ewell: Yes
As a committed local resident and business owner, I am standing to represent Epsom Town and Downs because I care deeply about the future of our community. I live in the ward with my family, and I want to help build a stronger, more connected area where people feel proud to live and confident about the future. My focus is on working closely with residents to deliver practical, lasting improvements that benefit everyone.
I am passionate about fairness and equality, and I believe in a balanced approach to tackling crime and anti-social behaviour, combining appropriate enforcement with prevention. Through my experience introducing apprenticeship schemes and supporting young people into work, I have seen how education, local sports clubs, and community initiatives create real opportunities and keep young people positively engaged.
Continuous improvement through efficient spending in public services and roads is essential, alongside building a stronger local economy and better educational opportunities. Having spent decades in business, starting as an apprentice at 16 and progressing into leadership roles, I understand how to manage resources effectively and support growth. Starting a local business has also given me direct insight into the challenges facing small enterprises and how a strong local economy supports the wider community.
As co-founder and chair of a local charity, I have helped deliver essential aid to Ukraine since the war began, demonstrating leadership and the ability to deliver results.
You will often find me supporting local pubs and restaurants or walking my dogs in Epsom’s green spaces. Protecting these areas through the right planning strategies, while ensuring our town remains safe, is central to my vision of a thriving community where everyone can contribute and succeed.
GOSLING Stuart

Party: Labour Party Resides in Epsom & Ewell: Yes
I am Stuart Gosling. I have lived in Epsom for 14 years and in East Surrey for most of my life. I recently retired from a career in IT which included working at many of the bigger companies in the area, and now work part time for a local community organisation.
I believe that only Labour can actually deliver improvements to the lives of ordinary people living in Epsom. For too long the Residents Association have run Epsom and Ewell and have become complacent, taking the electors for granted.
With the move to a unitary authority there will be a lot of changes. Now is the time to elect somebody who wants to use the opportunity to make life better for all those living in Epsom.
McCORMICK Steven John

I have served as a Surrey County and Epsom & Ewell Borough Councillor for five years, working full time to represent local residents. I focus on practical issues that affect everyday life — road safety, parking, public safety, planning, and protecting our environment.
As Chair of the Epsom & Walton Downs Conservators, I work to safeguard the Downs, balancing heritage with the needs of residents and visitors. I stay visible and accessible, engaging with residents, community groups, and local businesses to solve problems and drive improvements.
Outside council work, I support local organisations and events as a photographer, helping celebrate what makes Epsom such a special place to live.

I live and work in the borough and attended the University for the Creative Arts in Ashley Road. As a borough councillor, I serve on Health Liaison, the H.R. Panel, Epsom & Walton Downs Conservators, and the Communities and Wellbeing committee. I’m Borough Heritage Champion, raising the profile of our history and supporting local and national charities through events at Epsom Playhouse.
My background is producing educational material for healthcare workers. This shapes my commitment to wellbeing, to carers, and to inclusive information for all ages. I listen, focus on practical solutions, and fight for independent, residents-first decision-making.
I have always enjoyed the countryside — I learned to ride here! I’m a volunteer water quality monitor with our local rivers’ trust and recently I successfully campaigned to create a new nature reserve in the borough.

WARE Michael

My name is Michael Ware, and I am standing in the upcoming local elections as the Conservative Party candidate.
I have lived in the College area; my five children all went to the local schools and I grow flowers on my allotment on Alexandra Road. I am part of our community and I’m standing because I believe we deserve better than the choices currently offered. Too often, the major parties put slogans, ideology, and party games ahead of us — the people who actually live in this great town.
I am standing because Epsom deserves straightforward councillors who put residents first. If elected, I will focus on the issues you care about: protecting the character of our town, ensuring new development is properly controlled, improving local services, and making sure your money is spent wisely.
Most importantly, I will be honest. I will not promise what cannot be delivered, and I will not say one thing during an election and do another afterwards. You deserve a councillor who tells the truth, listens, and acts in Epsom’s best interests.
I would be grateful for your support and your vote in the local elections.

I’m standing as a Liberal Democrat candidate for the new East Surrey Council because we believe we need a fresh start — and we want to help deliver that.
I have lived here for over 20 years and previously served as a borough councillor covering Horton, Court and Longmead. During that time, I co-founded the Livingstone Park Residents’ Association and led a campaign to save Horton Chapel by proposing the creation of a community trust. It was a real success and over the years it has grown into today’s thriving Horton Arts Centre. I also led a three-year campaign to have a disused water tower removed; in the end, it was taken down, much to the delight of local residents. These experiences showed me what can be achieved when local people come together and are properly listened to.
Through my work with local communities, particularly supporting disabled people and families, we see every day how council decisions affect real lives.
For too long, Surrey has been run by the Conservatives. They’ve had every opportunity to fix long-standing issues — yet many residents still feel let down.
We have a strong team — experienced councillors, highly skilled professionals, and grassroots community champions — ready to lead with a fresh approach. We will work with residents, not just for them. For us, this is about fairness, accountability, and building a council that truly works for everyone.
Vote Liberal Democrat for a real fresh start for East Surrey.
CLEVELAND Christine Gladys

Chrissie Cleveland has lived in the borough for over 30 years and has been a Councillor since 2019 for the Residents Association. She is committed to protecting Epsom and Ewell’s urban and green character and ensuring residents feel safe. A former senior executive in education, health and social care, she later became CEO of a Surrey Carers charity. She has served on key committees, chaired the Health Liaison Panel, and campaigned for strong local NHS services. She is passionate about supporting vulnerable people and safeguarding the green belt. If elected, she will give Stamford, Horton, Court and Town residents an independent voice free from party politics.

It would be a privilege to represent the good people of Epsom West ward on the new East Surrey Council. I know the area quite well as I have lived in Epsom for 24 years and campaigned all over the borough. We’ll need to speak up for ourselves and our issues; this is not a time to be faint-hearted.
As an active retired nurse my priorities are the things that the County Council is responsible for which affect people’s daily lives: social care, education, highways, trading standards, transport, recreation and so on. I volunteer at our local park to keep it tidy and welcoming and would strive to keep our local green areas as respite and safety from our busy lives.
My children went to state schools and have done well; school is a massive part of a child’s life and teaching staff deserve every support and credit. Children get one shot at childhood and that needs to be a positive experience to set them on the road as responsible adults.
Comprehensive social care is still an aspiration, but getting the best value for money rather than the cheapest option should be the role of the Council, and supporting carers properly is common sense.
GRUNWALD Yvonne Caroline

Party: The Green Party Resides in Epsom & Ewell: Yes
I feel very lucky to have lived in Epsom West for 14 years, with the beautiful Common, a hospital, a leisure centre and lovely schools. This is a wonderful place to bring up my children. I’m a keen swimmer, an amateur doodler, and some of my family are neurodivergent, giving me some experience with the SEND system. I’ve volunteered at Epsom Repair Café, worked at the Ashtead Refill Shop, and I’m currently helping launch a Library of Things.
But this is a particularly challenging time for many vulnerable and marginalised people. We need to provide more community and youth spaces, opportunities for young people, support local businesses, and build more social homes. I want to help all residents who have lost a sense of belonging feel proud to live in Epsom again.
If elected I will work hard to fix residents’ immediate worries. Over the last year I’ve been out talking to residents to find out what these are — from fixing potholes and parking issues, to protecting our green belt, addressing the rise in antisocial behaviour, improving SEND provision, and completing unfinished building or road works.
In Epsom, the Greens’ support has tripled over the last six months. If there was ever a time to vote Green, it is now. Real hope, real change.

I am a recently retired science teacher who has lived in Epsom West for over 25 years. I am new to politics but I care passionately about my community and the environment of Epsom. I volunteer for a local mental health charity and I am enjoying tending my recently assigned allotment. I particularly value Ashtead Common and the access we enjoy to wild spaces around Epsom where I walk regularly.
My science background has given me an appreciation of evidence-based policy and I have already learned a lot from my Liberal Democrat councillor colleagues. If elected, I am determined to work hard to ensure Epsom continues to be a good place to live and work.
MARSHALL Scott

Scott has lived in Epsom West for 20 years and has served the Residents’ Association in Stamford and Horton since 2017, becoming Chairman in 2024. A Chartered Civil Engineer with over 25 years’ experience in transport, infrastructure, planning and development, he brings skills highly relevant to the role. He has worked closely with residents, community groups and RA councillors to champion local priorities. Now standing for Epsom West, he is committed to representing Town, Court, Stamford and Horton. He is determined to protect green spaces and help Epsom West thrive as a safe, well-maintained and community-focused place to live.

With over 40 years of dedicated service as an NHS manager and agency lead, I bring a lifetime of leadership, compassion, and practical problem-solving experience to our community. Now retired, I remain deeply active within my political party and find great fulfilment in volunteering for several local charities. My career has been defined by a commitment to public service and the well-being of others — qualities I am eager to channel into representing our residents with the same kindness, politeness, and friendly, approachable nature that I have carried throughout my professional life.
I am the proud father of two children and grandfather of five grandchildren and am inspired daily by my partner, a university lecturer with a doctorate in Nursing. Our family’s deep roots in healthcare and education reinforce my belief in the power of community support and lifelong learning.
I am running for councillor because I believe my extensive experience in management and my heart for charitable work make me uniquely qualified to listen to your concerns and advocate for a better, more inclusive future for everyone in our ward.

Stephen and his family have lived in Epsom & Ewell for over 25 years. He is an experienced local councillor having previously served four years on Epsom & Ewell Borough Council (2007–2011), where he was a member of the Planning and Environment Committees. He also played his part in improving recycling services and made the case for delivering value for money.
Stephen has been involved in local campaigns to save Epsom Hospital’s A&E and maternity services from downgrade or closure, the campaign to Save the Wells Centre, and more recently the campaign to protect the Green Belt. Stephen’s career is in Audio Engineering. He has a logical, common-sense approach to problem solving, policy and delivery.
Key priorities: protect our Green Belt and green spaces — opposing inappropriate development; fix our roads, potholes and congestion; tackle crime and anti-social behaviour by working with police to crack down on ASB, drug use and shoplifting; revitalise our local high streets and support small businesses, starting with one hour free parking in town centres; fight for fairer funding for Surrey communities from central government; and keep Council Tax as low as possible while protecting frontline services.

For years, residents across Epsom and Ewell have been raising the same environmental concerns: worsening air quality on our busiest roads, pressure on our remaining green spaces, flooding risks made worse by inadequate drainage, and new developments that seem to chip away at nature without improving local infrastructure. As someone who has lived in the Epsom and Leatherhead area for 14 years, I’ve seen how these issues affect daily life — from parents worrying about pollution on the school run to residents frustrated by the loss of natural spaces that once defined our area.
After more than three decades working in environmental policy across government, I know how decisions made far away can shape daily life here: the air we breathe, the safety of our streets, the quality of our local environment. I also know that when communities are ignored, the consequences are felt for years.
That’s why I’m standing for the Green Party. Ewell needs a stronger voice pushing for decisions that put residents first — protecting the green spaces that make this area special, ensuring new housing is genuinely affordable and energy-efficient, and giving people real alternatives to car dependency: safer walking routes, reliable buses, and cycle paths that actually join up.
Most of all, I want a future where young people in Ewell have opportunities, support, and safe places to grow. Residents deserve a council that listens, plans for the long term, and puts community wellbeing at the heart of every decision.

There is an alternative to party politics in local government. What is needed are representatives of the community who know their locality and who will put residents’ needs and aspirations at the forefront of their decision-making — councillors who support decisions made with and close to residents, and who respond quickly and effectively when contacted for support.
As a Residents Association candidate, I think it is important to focus on my own record as an existing Surrey County Councillor and the positive policy changes I want to make if elected to East Surrey Council.
Despite being in a minority group at Surrey County Council, I secured support for a revised Tree Planting Policy that enables residents to request additional tree planting in highway verges. I persuaded the Council to adopt a Community Asset Transfer Scheme enabling the transfer of Council buildings and land to residents to manage on behalf of their local community. And in 2025 I led the campaign that saw the withdrawal of SCC’s plan to sell Grafton Stables in Cuddington for housing, instead designating it as a publicly accessible Nature Reserve.
If elected to East Surrey Council, I will seek local funding and decision-making powers for East Surrey Councillors in their local areas. I will also seek the introduction of pavement parking bans on our High Streets and residential roads, continued council funding support for key voluntary service providers such as Age Concern and Citizens Advice Epsom and Ewell, and improvement of closer-to-home SEND places for Epsom and Ewell families.

I have lived in Epsom for almost 50 years and have a professional technical background as a software developer working firstly in telecoms and then financial services. After leaving school I undertook a four-year apprenticeship with the MOD learning to be an instrument maker, then a further three years as a radio technician, followed by nine more years maintaining electronics hardware before a move into software.
Socially, a small group of us organised a dance once a month in various communal clubs in and around the Epsom area for many years to raise money for charity.
I joined the Green Party in 2015 because of a desire to change the tide of the political environment and to prioritise the needs of our citizens over that of the elites. I believe a strong Green Party presence at a local level will drive change from the bottom up. The Green Party is spreading a new and hopeful voice that will improve democracy, reduce inequality and protect the environment.
We know what to do — let’s try and do it.

I moved to the UK in 2022 from Hong Kong and started my new life here in Epsom. I have been living in Epsom and Ewell for more than three years.
I was an IT professional working on IT projects, especially in security and audit, for government bodies and public enterprises for over 12 years. I needed to communicate with people from different levels — senior management, database staff, developers, end users, human resources — always paying attention to detail and making sure everything was running on time and within budget.
I am honoured to stand as a Liberal Democrat candidate to represent Ewell Court, Auriol and Cuddington in the East Surrey Council.
One thing that motivated me to stand was that in our Hongkongers community, different people were facing different difficulties, especially during the recent immigration rule changes. Many families were affected, including my own. Those voices should be heard. I believe someone who is familiar with the community, knows what is going on within it and understands its concerns, should speak up for those who find it harder to do so.
Addressing local issues and building a better local community is something I am passionate about. That is why I am standing as a candidate in this local election.
O’DONOVAN Peter William

Party: Residents Associations of Epsom and Ewell Resides in Epsom & Ewell: Yes
East Surrey Unitary Authority will serve a population of over 545,000, centralising local government and taking ‘local’ government further from residents. It is important therefore that residents have the opportunity to vote for local people who know the area and have a track record of putting the community and residents first.
Residents should have a say on the issues that affect their locality and, if elected, I will press for local funding and decision-making powers for East Surrey Councillors to enable residents to help shape local spending decisions.
The cost of creating East and West Surrey Councils could be as much as £94 million, so I am calling for a clear financial plan that cuts out waste and focuses on value for money services. I will also campaign for the retention of the Borough’s existing weekly recycling collection.
The state of our roads is a real concern for residents, and all RA candidates are committed to a new ‘Rapid Response’ strategy: reinstating Local Highway Officers with deep knowledge of Epsom and Ewell to report potholes for immediate repair; during high-demand periods, replacing the slow Report–Inspect–Repair process with agile Find and Fix crews empowered to identify and repair defects immediately on busy routes; and championing the use of high-tier equipment like the Pothole Pro to ensure a ‘Right First Time’ repair that lasts years, not weeks.
I will work for and with residents to ensure that East Surrey Council works for them.

I moved to Epsom & Ewell with my wife and two young children 18 years ago, attracted by the pleasant environment, good schools and green spaces — all things I will strive to keep if elected.
Whilst my children were at school I served as a School Governor and volunteered as a youth leader. I began my working life as a teacher of adults with learning disabilities, then changed career to local authority social worker, gaining extensive experience of how councils work. Progressing to Head of Department and working closely with parents, I designed and managed a service cited as the UK Centre of Excellence for Children with Disabilities.
I then moved to take on executive roles within a number of charities, two of which had bases in Epsom. I completed my career as CEO of a charity that advocated for and provided support services to disabled children, adults and their carers.
Post-retirement I continue as an Ambassador of that charity. I also work as a volunteer and management committee member at Surrey Stands with Ukraine, based in the Ashley Centre, and I fundraise for M.E. Research UK as I care for a family member with this complex illness.
I am standing with the Liberal Democrats because I believe in their values and manifesto commitments. I wish to use my qualifications, skills and experience to help improve the lives of residents who have a diverse range of needs, and I have proven experience of managing services to a high standard within tight budgets.

I’ve grown up in Epsom and Ewell and feel fiercely protective of this neighbourhood. Its beautiful parks, charming town centre and phenomenal schools are reasons I chose to keep my roots here. I would work hard for the people of this ward as councillor.
I am a strong believer that if you raise up the marginalised in society, we all raise up with them. I have studied law and worked to provide legal aid to asylum seekers. I currently work within a trade union. I would bring the compassion and intelligence required in this line of work to advocate for each and every one of our neighbours.

I’m a husband, Dad and Stepdad, and I’ve been living in East Surrey since 2003. I’m a jobbing actor by trade, and one of my favourite jobs was being in the cast of the much-loved play Warhorse in the West End. I’ve been active in my community over the years, coaching youth cricket at my local club and teaching drama to kids involved in a local agency.
I’ve noticed over a long period of time the managed decline going on in this country, under the stewardship of the two main political parties. It can’t go on, and now is the time to stop that decline with decisive, practical government, beginning at local level.
If elected, I’ll be working to improve SEND specialist and mainstream provision to reduce reliance on distant placements, saving money and cutting school travel time. We need to prioritise the provision of genuinely affordable homes, including socially rented housing. We need a transport system that is safe, reliable, accessible and environmentally sustainable. Road maintenance will be improved through better identification of high-wear areas and increased preventative work. Greens will significantly increase the frequency and coverage of bus services and roll out more on-street EV charging points.
Austerity policies have stripped local government funding to unacceptably low levels. Elected Green councillors in 2026 will campaign nationally to increase funding so we can breathe life back into our communities.

I have represented Ewell ward as a Ewell Village Residents Association councillor at EEBC for 19 years, playing an active role in bringing increased investment to the area, including the forthcoming Ewell Village High Street improvement works, the development of the Epsom Sports Club facilities at Old Schools Lane and major upgrades to Bourne Hall, among others. During my time on the council I have served on most committees and am currently Chair of the Community and Wellbeing Committee and Vice Chair of Planning. I also took on the RA Group Chair role — equivalent to council leader — for six years, achieving considerable success for the Council. On a national level I have had a high profile through my work at the Local Government Association, serving as Deputy Leader of the Independent Group of Councillors and as lead member on the LGA’s Safety and Stronger Communities Board.
I am standing in this election because it is really important that we have a resident-focused, non-party-political voice to shape the initial structure and subsequent direction of the new East Surrey unitary and ensure that local values and priorities are at the table. By electing a strong group of Residents Association Councillors, Epsom and Ewell has a chance to exert a major influence on the new unitary, and I believe my experience and commitment will help achieve that.

On 7 May, you will be asked to elect a new unitary councillor for East Surrey Council. I am asking you to vote for me.
I was born and raised locally. My wife and I live in West Ewell where our two daughters attend local schools. Since 2018 I’ve been a borough councillor, representing part of West Ewell where the boundaries have been redrawn. I’ve chosen to stand as an Independent rather than as a Residents’ Association candidate. I believe I can serve you better this way.
I hope you will think of the many years of hard work I’ve put in on litter, anti-social behaviour, fixing potholes, housing issues, parking problems and fighting crime here in West Ewell. There’s more to do.
I campaigned successfully against the creation of a new parish council because I don’t want to see residents taxed even more. We already pay enough — and 82% of residents agreed. We won! Last year I bid for and won over £1 million in funding for new playgrounds and sports grounds. Every child in Epsom & Ewell will have access to quality facilities no matter where they live. You will see six new play areas in West Ewell before the summer.
Let’s take party politics out of local government. Vote Independent.

I entered politics out of disappointment and disgust at political parties disregarding national interest and the public good for personal and political gain, and local councils’ lack of direction and failure at managing the basics. People are right to be angry. We deserve better and pay enough for it. I’m here because our community needs leaders who listen, act with integrity, and put people above all else.
In the 13 years I’ve lived in Epsom, I’ve witnessed a very visible decline in standards at all levels — increased crime, crumbling services, disinterested housing associations and neglected infrastructure.
With 20 years’ experience in healthcare — from CAMHS to crisis mental health and dementia care — I’ve also seen how underfunding and staff shortages result in our most vulnerable being neglected, including children, the elderly and the disabled. People face unacceptable waits for support or are left with no support at all. This has to stop.
As your Green Party candidate, I’ll push hard for properly funded, accessible services, initiatives to protect health, and sensible development that includes schools, GPs, and green spaces — not just housing. I want to continue to deliver for a community where no one is left behind.

SANDHAWALIA Amandeep Singh

Party: The Green Party Resides in Epsom & Ewell: Yes
My name is Amandeep, and I’m standing as your Green Party candidate for West Ewell on the new East Surrey Council.
I live in West Ewell with my wife and seven-year-old son, who is happily settled at Danetree School. Together, let’s build a better, safer and happier community for our children to grow up in.
I was born and raised in Birmingham to hard-working immigrant parents who didn’t have much. I have previously spent a decade renting in London, so I know first-hand the pain of insecure tenancies, spiralling rents and wondering where you’ll be next year. If it taught me one thing, it’s that our communities are stronger when we welcome people, not when we scapegoat them.
I’m a proud Trustee of Love Me Love My Mind, a wonderful local mental health charity working across Epsom and Ewell. I took on the role because I believe that looking after one another — especially on the hardest days — is what a real community does.
By day, I’m an accountant and tax specialist, working with small businesses and everyday people who too often lose out under a tax system designed for someone else. That work is why I joined the Green Party: I’ve seen up close that real change is both necessary and affordable, and the Greens are the only party being honest even when it’s hard to be.
Locally, I’ll focus on what residents tell me matters most: safer walking routes, fixing the potholes, better bus services, and protecting the Hogsmill — because hundreds of dead fish washing up on our doorstep should be a wake-up call, not a footnote.
I’d be honoured to earn your vote. Hope, not hate.
SMITH Jeremy Paul Walker

Party: Liberal Democrats Resides in Epsom & Ewell: Yes
Hello, I’m Jeremy, and I’ve lived in the Borough since 2010. My wife and I have always loved our area, so we decided to raise our children here — who are now in schools in West Ewell. As a local parent, I have a personal stake in making our area safer and fairer.
I’ve worked within the television business since 1993 and currently work as a Project Manager building studios, installing tech, running channels and helping to broadcast programmes we all love. I have always excelled in my work when I am truly passionate about creating something great. Now, we have an opportunity to make the East Surrey Unitary Council work for you. I listen, I care, and will action issues that need to be addressed.
Giving back to my local community is something I’ve always done. I litter-pick frequently in Nonsuch Park as I walk my dog with my kids, and I am a keen donator on local Freecycle groups.
Building East Surrey Council from the predecessor authorities is going to be challenging, requiring expert governance from day one. However, Sammi Villabon and I would be working with our MP, Helen Maguire, as a Lib Dem team, supported by the wider party with decades of running successful councils that provide value for money and successful services.
As I have delivered leaflets and knocked on doors in West Ewell, I’ve met so many kind and friendly people. Sammi and I will always listen, and we will never take residents in West Ewell for granted. It would be my honour to serve West Ewell.

I grew up on Heatherside Road, went to Blenheim High School, and got married at All Saints Church just around the corner from my parents. Today, my husband and I are raising our children here, using local childcare and our NHS services. West Ewell is where I’m rooted, where I’ve shaped my identity, and the community I now want to serve.
I work as a Sign Language Interpreter, and through that work, and as a parent, I see daily what genuine inclusion looks like and where it falls short. Families across East Surrey are crying out for a decent education for their children, especially those who need additional support — they should not have to fight legal battles to secure it. That’s why improving SEND provision, building safer streets, and removing barriers that make everyday life harder than it needs to be are at the heart of why I’m standing.
With a brand-new East Surrey Council, we have a genuine opportunity to shape what this council stands for from day one. For me, that means transparency, always. Residents deserve to know how decisions are made and why. It means decision-making grounded in values and evidence, and genuinely listening to the diverse voices across our community — because that diversity is one of our greatest strengths.
I am deeply rooted in this community. I understand the issues residents face because I live them too. And I believe that fairness, common sense and collaborative leadership can achieve real progress. I would be honoured to serve West Ewell.
