Epsom Choral Society – Brahms: A German Requiem and Rheinberger

This concert features one of the choral masterpieces Brahms’ A German Requiem, performed in a chamber version.
The German Requiem was scored for symphony orchestra and a version for piano duet, but Epsom Choral Society will perform the work in a relatively new arrangement by Iain Farrington. We will be joined by the English Sinfonietta Chamber Ensemble and soloists, Elizabeth Findon and Dominic Sedgwick, and be conducted by Julian Collings.
We will also perform works by Josef Rheinberger: the much-loved motet Abendlied, and his Mass in E flat, a work for double choir, considered to be Rheinberger’s finest work.
