Saturday 7 November 2026 · Chalky Lane, Chessington · Combined Counties Premier League South · Full time: Epsom & Ewell 3–1 Badshot Lea · Attendance: 116

Before kick-off, players, officials and supporters observed a minute’s silence in remembrance of those who gave their lives in service to their country.

The Salts started brightly, with Jason Bloor and Blessing Hombessa involved in several early chances. Badshot Lea’s first opportunity of note came from a free-kick just outside the penalty area, but the effort sailed over the crossbar.

Two goals in three minutes

Bloor broke the deadlock on the half-hour, collecting a cross before firing a powerful strike into the net. Three minutes later, top scorer Hombessa broke through the visitors’ defence and calmly slotted home to make it 2–0. He nearly added a third before half-time, sending an effort narrowly wide.

Epsom & Ewell remained in control after the restart. Badshot Lea were temporarily reduced to ten men when Zak Horkin was shown a yellow card and sent to the sin bin. Two more bookings followed for the visitors.

Alex Foord replaced Bloor in the 61st minute, and captain Brendan Murphy-McVey went close with a free-kick that drifted just over the bar. Kionte Waul replaced Angel Monte in the 72nd minute, Callum McAlistair was booked five minutes later and Oba came on for Murphy-McVey in the 85th minute.

Hombessa curls in the third

Hombessa sealed the win in the 89th minute, weaving past defenders before curling his second goal of the afternoon into the top corner. Frankie Lynn replaced Luke Miller, and Niall Stillwell came on for Courtney Swaby in stoppage time.

Badshot Lea pulled a goal back in the sixth minute of added time when Alfie Edwards’ low shot caught goalkeeper Ben Grummitt off guard, but the Salts saw out a deserved 3–1 win.
